Hydrogen (H2) is an alternative fuel that can be produced from various resources including natural gas, solar energy, wind, and biomass. It is most commonly used to power highly efficient fuel-cell electric vehicles and their infrastructure needs. Renewable hydrogen is safe to be distributed through natural gas pipelines for supply and distribution. Early adoption of hydrogen vehicle technologies has emerged in FCEVs (fuel cell electric vehicles) and vehicles like refuse, material handling, medium and heavy-duty trucks, and marine vessels.
