Dyed diesel is mainly utilized by companies that operate off-road vehicles. This fuel is commonly used in construction, agricultural vehicles, off-road equipment, and generators. Dyed diesel contains the same formula as ultra low sulfur diesel (ULSD) but with the addition of a red dye for tax identification and wholesale distribution purposes. It is also known as “marked diesel,” indicating that it should be used for off-road equipment rather than highway driving.
