4Refuel Welcomes Trevor Shaw

4Refuel welcomes Trevor Shaw to the team as Fuel Consultant for the Hamilton-Burlington-Oakville area.

Shaw joins 4Refuel with over 10 years experience in sales, as well as a career in the Canadian Football League.

Selected in the First Round of the 1994 CFL Draft, Shaw spent four seasons with the B.C. Lions, before a trade sent him to his hometown of Hamilton midway through the 1998 season.

Shaw went on to play five seasons with the Tiger Cats, totalling nine in the CFL.

“Our country has a league that afforded me the opportunity to play professionally. I loved my time there.”

His stint in Hamilton was highlighted by capturing a Grey Cup Championship in 1999.

“Winning the Grey Cup was certainly a great accomplishment that I’m very proud of,” he said.

Following his retirement from professional football in 2003, Shaw transitioned to the corporate world. Though his background was in broadcasting, his natural skillset led him to a career in sales.

“I think I’ve always had the personality and skills for sales,” he said. “I’m a people person and wanted to interact with people. I wasn’t really sure I wanted to be the ‘3…2…1… and you’re on’ kind of guy in the broadcasting world of radio or television.”

He added his career as an elite-level athlete helped provide him with the skills to be successful at anything.

“Teamwork is a key fundamental in sports that you learn growing up, and I certainly got to apply that at the professional level and I feel like I bring it in everything that I do,” he said.

In 185 Regular Season games, Shaw collected over 1,000 receiving yards and 67 tackles. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and Media Studies from Weber State University.
