NOAA Downgrades Hurricane Season Prediction, 4Refuel adds Emergency Coverage in Oklahoma

Hurricane Season is here, and while many businesses spend each spring readying for another unpredictable storm season, the June’s arrival doesn’t mean preparations should stop.

4Refuel has bolstered its emergency preparedness by achieving FEMA’s System of Award Management (SAM) licensing in the state of Oklahoma.

This license allows 4Refuel to assist local companies in providing emergency fuel distribution services in Oklahoma while providing primary emergency fuel services in the state of Texas.

Registration ensures a quicker response in the event of an emergency.

While only just over two weeks into Hurricane Season, the 2018 season has played out as predicted—busier than normal. The first named storm, Subtropical Storm Alberto, arrived even before the official beginning of the season.

Despite the fast start, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Climate Prediction Centre is now indicating the outlook may not be as active as initially thought.

A recent report from the NOAA shows a 50 percent chance of El Niño developing this fall, meaning a less active season, as well as an earlier ending.

While a positive sign after a destructive year in 2017, the sheer unpredictability of the weather means continuing to stay prepared is a must. Ensure your business is ready by establishing Emergency Response Procedures as well as making a list of vendors that can provide services before, during and after the storm.

4Refuel is North America’s largest mobile on-site refueler with coast-to-coast coverage in Canada and presence throughout the state of Texas.
